Blanket Boxes & Coffers

Antique Blanket Boxes & Coffers

Antique blanket boxes and coffers are among the oldest forms of furniture, and they are still among the most useful. Use one at the end of a bed, as a hallway bench or as a coffee table with storage inside. Our collection includes carved 17th-century oak coffers, Georgian oak mule chests with drawers beneath, and Victorian pine blanket boxes.

Old oak coffers develop a deep, rich patina over centuries of use, while pine blanket boxes have a lighter, more rustic look. Each listing gives full measurements, including the interior space where useful, and close-up photographs of the lid, hinges and condition.
