Antique 1930s Art Deco glazed bookcase in oak, a tall and well-proportioned piece of good quality, showcasing fine craftsmanship and handsome figured timber.
A pair of glazed doors with geometric glazing bars over fielded lower panels opens to an interior with adjustable shelves, ideal for books, china or collections, with a lock to the doors.
The arched top is carved with stylised Art Deco fan motifs to the corners over a beaded frieze, with stepped Deco mouldings to the upper corners, and the bookcase stands on a plinth base with reeded corner blocks.
The oak displays an attractive quarter-sawn grain with lovely medullary ray figure, and a warm, rich colour with a mellow patina.
Presented in good condition commensurate with age. A very desirable Art Deco oak bookcase of slim proportions, a perfect addition to any study, living room, dining room or hallway.
