Antique 19th century set of 8 shield back dining chairs, an elegant and beautifully matched set comprising two carver armchairs and six single dining chairs.
Their distinctive shield-shaped backs give the set a graceful period appearance, complemented by tapered legs joined by supporting stretchers.
Attractive upholstered drop-in seats add comfort while sitting neatly within the traditional frames.
Beautiful natural grain and rich colour enhance the timber throughout, giving all eight chairs plenty of depth and character.
Each chair feels sturdy and secure, with no unwanted movement, making the set well suited to continued use around a dining table.
In good condition, well made and of good quality, this highly desirable set offers an impressive combination of comfort, craftsmanship and classic period style.
