Antique 19th century three tier buffet in carved oak, a handsome and imposing piece of good quality, showcasing fine hand carving and superb craftsmanship throughout.
It is fitted with a single frieze drawer to the top, its front richly carved with trailing oak leaves and acorns around a branch-form handle, above two open tiers ideal for serving, display or storage.
The tiers are supported on boldly turned barley twist columns with carved rosette blocks, and the piece is finished with carved egg and dart and leaf mouldings to the top and plinth base, raised on bun feet. The sides are panelled with carved rosettes to the corners.
The oak displays a lovely grain and a deep, rich colour, with a wonderful patina built up over many years.
Presented in good condition, it is a very desirable and versatile piece of neat proportions, perfect for a dining room, kitchen or hallway, and would make a wonderful addition to any home.
