Antique Continental sideboard in walnut, a handsome and characterful piece of good quality, showcasing fine traditional craftsmanship and charming hand-carved detail.
The front is fitted with a pair of fielded panel doors with iron drop handles and shaped iron escutcheons, the right-hand door retaining its iron lock. The doors open to a spacious interior with a single shelf, offering generous storage for china, glassware or table linen.
The moulded top sits above a frieze centred by a finely carved winged cherub head, flanked by carved acanthus corbels, with carved acanthus pilasters running down either side of the doors. The panelled sides match the front, and the whole stands on a moulded plinth raised on sturdy block feet. The solid plank back and traditional frame-and-panel construction speak to its age.
The walnut displays a lovely figured grain and a deep, rich colour with a wonderful aged patina built up over many years.
Of compact proportions, it is ideal for a dining room, hallway or living room. Presented in good antique condition, with marks and wear consistent with its age. A very desirable Continental walnut sideboard, a perfect addition to any traditional or country interior.

Delivery is available throughout the UK mainland, including most areas of Scotland.
Each piece is carefully wrapped and protected prior to dispatch and delivered by our trusted private courier using a two-person team.
Your piece will be delivered to the room of your choice, provided there is suitable access. For items supplied in sections, assembly is not included as part of the delivery service.
Our standard delivery timeframe is approximately 3–15 working days from receipt of payment. The courier will contact you directly to confirm the delivery date and provide an approximate arrival time.
If you have any particular delivery requirements, please let us know before purchasing and we’ll do our best to accommodate them.
