Antique 20th century open bookcase in oak, a charming and well-proportioned piece of good quality, showcasing traditional craftsmanship with a touch of Arts & Crafts character.
The bookcase offers three shelves above a fixed base shelf, giving four open spaces for books, records or the display of favourite pieces, with a further display surface to the top.
The top is framed by a shaped arched gallery to the back with scrolled ends to each side, and the front uprights are decorated with applied bobbin moulding running their full height. It stands on shaped bracket feet.
The oak displays a lovely figured grain, particularly on the sides and top, with a rich, dark colour and a pleasing aged patina.
Its slim, narrow proportions make it ideal for an alcove, landing, hallway or any smaller space.
Presented in good condition, it is a very desirable and practical piece, perfect for a study, bedroom or sitting room.
