Antique late 19th century pedestal desk in walnut, a handsome and well-proportioned piece of good quality, showcasing fine craftsmanship from around the turn of the century.
The desk is fitted with nine drawers in total: three frieze drawers across the top, with a central drawer over the kneehole, and a bank of three graduated drawers in each pedestal. Every drawer has a keyhole and decorative pierced brass handles, providing a wealth of practical storage.
The top is set with a black leather writing surface within a moulded walnut border. The drawers have panelled fronts framed by reeded uprights, the sides and back are panelled, and each pedestal stands on a moulded plinth base with castors.
The walnut displays an attractive straight grain and a warm, mellow colour with a lovely aged patina.
The desk comes apart in three sections, the top and two pedestals, which makes delivery and access much easier. Presented in good condition, with some wear to the plinth bases in keeping with its age. A very desirable pedestal desk, perfect for a study, home office or library.

Delivery is available throughout the UK mainland, including most areas of Scotland.
Each piece is carefully wrapped and protected prior to dispatch and delivered by our trusted private courier using a two-person team.
Your piece will be delivered to the room of your choice, provided there is suitable access. For items supplied in sections, assembly is not included as part of the delivery service.
Our standard delivery timeframe is approximately 3–15 working days from receipt of payment. The courier will contact you directly to confirm the delivery date and provide an approximate arrival time.
If you have any particular delivery requirements, please let us know before purchasing and we’ll do our best to accommodate them.
