Vintage early 20th century Art Deco sideboard in oak, a handsome and well-proportioned piece of good quality, showcasing fine craftsmanship and bold carved decoration.
The front has two frieze drawers carved with stylised flowers and leaves and fitted with turned wooden knobs, one fitted with baize-lined cutlery divisions, over a pair of panelled cupboard doors with carved scrolling handles, each opening to a shelf.
The doors are divided by a fluted central pilaster headed by a carved floral cartouche, and the sideboard has a low ledge back, a shaped scalloped apron and stands on large carved scroll feet on stepped plinths.
The oak displays a stunning figured grain with lovely medullary ray flashes to the sides and top, and a warm, rich colour with a lovely mellow patina.
Presented in good condition commensurate with age. A very desirable carved oak sideboard of compact proportions, a perfect addition to any dining room, kitchen or living room.
