Vintage 20th century open bookcase in oak, a large and handsome library piece of good quality, showcasing solid craftsmanship and generous proportions.
The bookcase is of double width, divided into two bays by a central upright, each bay fitted with four fixed shelves above a deep bottom tier, giving ten generous spaces in all for books, records and display.
It is finished with a moulded cornice to the top and stands on a deep plinth base, with lipped oak shelf fronts and a full back, a clean and timeless design that suits both traditional and modern interiors.
The oak displays an attractive figured grain and a warm, mellow golden colour, with a pleasing patina throughout.
Presented in good condition, it is a very desirable and practical bookcase, perfect for a study, home library, living room or office.
