Vintage 20th century pedestal desk in pitch pine, a substantial and well-proportioned piece of good quality, showcasing solid craftsmanship.
The left pedestal has five drawers and the right a drawer over a panelled cupboard door, either side of a central frieze drawer over the kneehole, all with brass cup handles and a brass knob to the door.
The sides and back are fully panelled, so the desk can stand in the middle of a room, and both pedestals sit on moulded plinth bases beneath a moulded top.
The pitch pine displays a stunning bold figured grain and a warm, rich honey colour with a lovely mellow patina.
Presented in good condition commensurate with age. A very desirable pitch pine desk, a perfect addition to any study, home office or library.
