Antique 18th century bow front Georgian side table in mahogany, a particularly beautiful example where the quality of the timber and elegant shape immediately catch the eye.
Its sweeping bow front gives the table a graceful profile, enhanced by two generous drawers to either side of a smaller central drawer.
Each drawer is finished with decorative brass handles, while delicate inlaid detailing across the fronts introduces another layer of craftsmanship and visual interest. What really sets this piece apart is the mahogany itself, displaying an exceptional grain with wonderful movement, depth and variation in colour.
The curved frontage shows the timber to great effect, allowing the figuring to become an important part of the overall design rather than simply a finishing detail. Refined enough for a hallway or drawing room yet practical enough for a bedroom or study, it has the versatility to work beautifully in many settings.
In good condition and of excellent quality, this desirable Georgian table has a distinctive elegance and individuality that makes it especially memorable.
