Antique spice cupboard on stand in oak, a charming and well-made piece of good quality, showcasing fine traditional craftsmanship and a most useful fitted interior.
The single fielded panel door, with its shaped arched top, has a working lock and key and opens to reveal a fitted interior with an open compartment above, four small drawers flanking a central pigeonhole, and two wider drawers below, six drawers in all, each with a small brass ring pull.
The cabinet has a moulded cornice and panelled sides and sits on a stand with a shaped apron, raised on square legs.
The oak displays a lovely figured grain, with medullary ray figure to the drawer fronts, and a deep, warm colour with a wonderful aged patina.
Of compact, neat proportions, it suits a kitchen, hallway, landing or study, and is perfect for small treasures, keys, jewellery or collectables. Presented in good antique condition, with marks and wear consistent with its age. A very desirable antique oak spice cupboard, a perfect addition to any traditional or country interior.
