Antique Victorian side table in walnut, an elegant and finely made piece of good quality, showcasing wonderful craftsmanship.
The octagonal top is quarter-veneered in figured walnut and inlaid with a marquetry border of scrolling foliage in lighter woods with ebonised accents, centred by a marquetry rosette within a circle of stringing.
The top is raised on four ring-turned column supports around a central turned finial, over a platform base and four carved and incised splayed legs, finishing on castors.
The walnut displays a beautiful figured grain and a warm, mellow colour, with a lovely aged patina.
Presented in good condition, with minor marks and small veneer losses consistent with age. A very desirable centre table, perfect as a lamp table or a centrepiece in any living room or hallway.
