Vintage 20th century carved oak corner cabinet in the Jacobean style, a charming and well-made piece of good quality, showcasing fine carved detailing throughout.
The cabinet is fitted with a pair of panelled doors with turned wooden knobs, a latch and decorative butterfly hinges, opening to an interior with a single shelf. Below, a triangular undertier provides a further shelf for display.
The doors are carved with arched panels of stylised foliage beneath a lunette-carved frieze, and the shaped apron below is carved with flowerheads. It stands on shaped baluster front legs joined to the undertier.
The oak displays an attractive figured grain to the top and a rich, dark colour with a warm patina, and the cabinet bears a small named plaque to the back.
Presented in good condition, a very desirable corner cabinet, perfect for making use of a corner in a dining room, hallway or living room.
