Vintage 20th century pair of French style bedside cabinets in oak, a charming and well-matched pair of good quality, made in the Louis XV provincial manner and showcasing fine craftsmanship throughout.
Each cabinet is fitted with a single panelled door opening to a generous open interior, ideal for books, bedside essentials or everyday storage. The doors are finished with turned knob handles and hung on decorative brass hinges, and the two cabinets open in opposite directions, making them a true mirrored pair.
The doors feature fielded panels with shaped arched tops, mirrored by the panelled sides, and each cabinet sits on a moulded top above a gently shaped apron. They stand on elegant cabriole legs, which give the pair a light and graceful French country character.
The oak displays an attractive figured grain with a warm, rich honey colour to the tops and a deeper tone to the cases, with a pleasing patina throughout.
Presented in good condition, a very desirable pair of bedside cabinets, perfect for any bedroom, and equally at home as lamp tables either side of a sofa.
