A remarkable antique 19th-century bronze sculpture portraying an African figure seated on a powerful, rearing horse, holding a spear with commanding presence.
This highly detailed piece is expertly cast from high-quality bronze, showcasing the strength and motion of the horse alongside the poised intensity of the rider. Every element—from the flowing lines of the horse's mane to the expressive detail of the figure—is rendered with exceptional craftsmanship.
What makes this sculpture particularly unique is its two-part construction: the bronze figure can be removed from the horse, adding a dynamic and interactive element to the piece. Rich in history and character, it tells a compelling story through form and movement, making it far more than just a decorative object.
In great condition and with a beautiful patina, this is a striking and rare work of art that commands attention. Whether displayed in a traditional or modern interior, it is sure to become a centrepiece and a talking point among guests.
