Antique late 19th or early 20th century brass oil lamp, an elegant and well-proportioned table lamp of good quality with a lovely aged character.
It is fitted with a central draught burner with a single winder, a pierced brass gallery and a shaped key lever, and comes complete with a clear glass chimney.
The rounded brass font sits on a fluted column rising from a stepped circular base decorated with an embossed band of foliage, and it is topped by a frosted glass shade with grey floral sprays and a frilled amber-tinted rim.
The brass has a warm, mellow tone and a genuine aged patina, giving it plenty of period charm.
A lovely decorative piece for a side table, sideboard or hallway, whether used as a working lamp or simply for display.
Presented in good antique condition consistent with age, it is a very desirable piece and the perfect addition to any traditional or period interior.
