Vintage 20th century Arts & Crafts style console table in solid oak, a handsome and well-proportioned handmade piece of excellent quality, showcasing fine craftsmanship and clean, honest lines.
The frieze is fitted with two drawers with hand-carved oak tab handles, one housing a sliding cutlery tray with four divisions over a green baize-lined base, and below is a full-length undershelf, ideal for books, baskets or display.
The ends are dressed with raised panels inlaid with crossed stringing, the back is finished with fielded panels so the table can stand freely in a room, and it is raised on sturdy square legs.
The quarter-sawn oak displays a stunning figured grain with beautiful medullary ray flashes to the drawer fronts, top and undershelf, and a warm, rich colour.
Presented in good condition. A very desirable handmade oak console table, perfect as a hall table, serving table or sofa table in any hallway, dining room or living room.
