Antique 19th century unique Davenport desk in rosewood, a highly distinctive and elegant example showcasing exceptional craftsmanship and refined decorative detail.
Very well made and of fine quality, the desk features a drop-down cabinet to the base enclosing two internal shelves and retaining its key, along with a single drawer to the centre providing additional storage. The beautifully shaped writing surface is finished with a rich brown writing top that lifts and angles forward, opening to reveal multiple fitted compartments ideal for storing writing accessories and stationery.
The piece is wonderfully decorated with satinwood inlay throughout, which contrasts beautifully against the deep rosewood figuring. The timber displays a gorgeous grain and colour, giving the desk a luxurious and eye-catching presence from every angle.
Raised on casters and formed in an elegant silhouette, this Davenport is both practical and visually striking.
A very unique, rare, and sought-after example presented in great condition. A perfect addition to any home, offering charm, functionality, and timeless antique appeal.
