Antique 20th century Georgian style kneehole writing desk in mahogany, a neat and well-proportioned piece of good quality, showcasing fine craftsmanship and classic Georgian lines.
The desk offers five drawers in total: a central frieze drawer above the arched kneehole, flanked on each side by two short drawers. Each drawer is fitted with pierced brass plate handles with swing bails.
The rectangular top has a moulded edge and sits over a neatly panelled case, raised on elegant square legs. Its compact proportions make it ideal for a smaller study, bedroom or landing, and it would serve equally well as a writing desk or a dressing table.
The mahogany displays an attractive figured grain to the drawer fronts and a warm, rich colour, with the top showing a lovely mellowed, sun-faded patina.
Presented in good condition commensurate with age and use. A very desirable writing desk, a perfect addition to any home office or bedroom.
