Vintage early 20th century Queen Anne style writing desk in burr walnut, a handsome and well-proportioned piece of excellent quality, showcasing fine craftsmanship and beautifully chosen veneers.
The serpentine front has a central frieze drawer with a shaped apron over the kneehole, flanked by two drawers to each pedestal, all with crossbanded fronts and pierced brass drop handles.
The shaped top has a carved leaf moulded edge and a low upstand to the back, and the desk stands on cabriole legs carved with shells to the knees, ending in pad feet.
The top is veneered in quarter-matched burr walnut, displaying a stunning figured grain and a warm, rich golden colour with a lovely mellow patina.
Presented in good condition commensurate with age. A very desirable burr walnut desk, a perfect addition to any study, home office or bedroom.
